The Sakleshpura–Chikmagalur stretch is one of the most rewarding short drives in the Western Ghats — coffee estates on both sides of the road, mist-covered hills for most of the year, and enough waterfalls and viewpoints to fill a full day without rushing.
Budget half a day for the drive alone if you're stopping along the way, longer if you're planning a proper detour to Mullayanagiri or Baba Budangiri.
